Julius was my best friend from 6th grade thru early adulthood when our paths diverged, his to the Marine Corps and mine to the Air Force. His whole family often welcomed me to their dinner table during those early years. Julius was a voracious reader, piercing intellect and kind soul. We often competed with each other in basketball, handball and vocabulary words we knew - always trying to best the other. He introduced me to the woman I married a year after my discharge. After our stints in the armed services, different life paths in different parts of the country seemed to get in the way of our maintaining our early close friendship. Later in life I met his wife (Betty) and his sons. News of his death saddens me greatly as I have occasion to remark upon my early years. Condolences to his family. RIP Julius
